On Thursday, Year 4 took part in the Minilympics held at Birley's Playing Field hosted by the outreach team at King's School. The fun day consisted of cricket, athletics, football and Lacrosse events. The children were also lucky to meet to Olympic champions Sean Kerly and Grace Balsdon who have received Olympic medals in Hockey.
Yesterday Year 3 visited St Thomas' Church as part of the Jubilee Year Pilgrims of Hope celebration.
On Wednesday this week, Year 3 visited Canterbury Cathedral to learn more about St.Thomas Becket. They enjoyed dressing up and acting out scenarios from the time.
Yesterday our Reception class had a wonderful morning at Pizza Express making their own pizzas! They brought them back to school later to enjoy a picnic on the grass.
Yesterday we were delighted to hold an assembly, hosted by our Cafod Club, where Anne Marie Whittle from Kent Catholic Schools Partnership came to pass on the candle for the Jubilee Year pilgrims of hope. The Archbishop asked Anne Marie to pass on these candles to some 40 Catholic schools in Kent.
Today Year 5 visited the local Fire Station. They had a great time being shown all the apparatus and what goes on!
This morning all of our pupils enjoyed learning about the stars and planets during an Astronomy show in a big inflatable planetarium!
This morning, our first group of Year 6 started their Bikeability training in the playground.
This afternoon, Year 6 rounded off their SATS week with a visit to the local Fire Station!
This afternoon, all of our pupils celebrated VE Day by joining different activities throughout the school including a scavenger hunt, flag making, dancing the Lindy Hop, singing, army drills and paper aeroplane making and flying!
