In Year 3, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we have been holding our own class liturgies.
Class Liturgy – Remembrance Day
Wednesday 11th November 2020
Our class liturgy theme this week was ‘Remembrance Day. Year 3 gathered together to listen to words from scripture, watched video clips and listened to some songs.
First, we listened to a song ‘Make me a Chanel of your Peace’. Then we came together for the gather. After that we listened to a reading from EPHESIANS 4:25-27, 29-32 and then some words from MATTHEW 5:1-12. We then discussed the question ‘Why do we have remembrance day?’ We then stopped to pray for all those who have been affected.
Finally, recognised the significance of ‘The Poppy Appeal’. Then we discussed the importance of remembering the fallen after watching ‘For the Fallen’ by Laurence Binyon.
Class Liturgy – We are the People of God
Wednesday 14th October 2020
Our class liturgy theme this week was ‘We are the People of God’. Year 3 gathered together to listen to words from scripture and listened to some songs.
First, we listened to a reading from 1 PETER 2: 9-10 and then some words from the Gospel of John (John 13: 34-35). Both of these readings talked about loving one another. Then, we then thought about the difficulties we have sometimes when following these words and how we can overcome any issues we may face.
Finally, we then discussed how we could help spread the ‘love’ to all. We also listened to hymns, ‘Come, Worship the Lord’ and ‘A New Commandment’ during the Liturgy.
