Class Liturgy – Remembrance Day

Wednesday 11th November 2020

Our class liturgy theme this week was ‘Remembrance Day’, we gathered together to listen to words from Scripture and listened to some songs. We first listened to a reading from Ephesians 4: 25-27, 29-32 and then some words from the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 5: 1-12), the Beatitudes of Jesus. We looked at why we celebrate remembrance day and the story of the poppy. It was a lovely time for reflection.

Class Liturgy – Gifts received from God

Wednesday 14th October 2020

Our class liturgy theme this week was ‘Gifts received from God’, we gathered together to listen to words from Scripture and listened to some songs. We first listened to a reading from Peter 4: 10-11 and then some words from the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 25: 14-29). We then looked at how people use their gifts, we looked at Marcus Rashford in particular. He has been campaigning for children and young people to be fed during this difficult time. He has received an MBE from the Queen in recognition of his work. What a fantastic role model for young people! We then wrote down how we can use our gifts to make the world a better place.

Class Liturgy – Sent to Preach the Kingdom of God

Wednesday 30th September 2020

Our class liturgy theme this week was ‘Sent to Preach the Kingdom of God’, we gathered together to listen to words from Scripture and listened to some songs. We first listened to a reading from Jeremiah 1: 4-8 and then some words from the Gospel of Luke (Luke 9: 1-6). Both of these readings talked about going to spread the Good News to the nations. We thought about the difficulties we have sometimes when spreading the Good News and how we can overcome these. We discussed how we can spread the Good News to all. We listened to the hymns, ‘Seek ye first the Kingdom of God’ and ‘Here I am, Lord’.
